Congratulations to our 2025-26 Delaware League Varsity Basketball Champions. In the Varsity Girls Game, the #1 seed Stamford/Jefferson Merged Team defeated the #2 seed SKCS/Andes Merged Team by the score of 52-39 in a very entertaining contest. In the Varsity Boys Game, #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford Merged Team defeated the #1 seed SKCS/Andes Merged Team by the score of 70-45 in a very impressive performance. All four teams, their school districts, and communities should be very proud of their accomplishments this year.

Congratulations to all of the Delaware League Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball Teams advancing to Section IV Class D play. On the girls side the seeds are #1 Stamford/Jefferson Merged Team and #8 SKCS/Andes Merged Team. On then boys side the seeds are #3 SKCS/Andes Merged Team, #5 Jefferson/Stamford Merged Team, #8 Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team, #10 Windham, #11 Hunter Tannersville, and #12 Charlotte Valley. Good luck to all of the teams in sectional play beginning on Tuesday February 24th, 2026.

Congratulations to our 2025-26 Delaware League JV Basketball Champions. In the JV Girls Game, the #2 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team defeated the #1 seed Stamford/Jefferson Merged Team by the score of 39-29 in a hard fought contest. In the JV Boys Game, the #1 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team defeated the #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford Merged Team by the score of 47-45 in a very entertaining contest. All four teams, their school districts, and communities should be very proud of their accomplishments this year!!!

The Delaware League Varsity Basketball Championships will take place on Friday February 20th, 2026 at the Manes Field House on the SUNY Delhi campus. General admission for all adults, students, Senior Citizens 65 and older is $5.00, and children under 10 years of age will be admitted free. Parking by the field house will be only for team school buses and handicapped tagged cars. The Bronco Shuttle Buses will run throughout the night starting at 4:30 pm taking spectators from the lower lots to the top and back again. The Varsity Girls Championship at 5:30 pm will have #1 seed Stamford/Jefferson vs #2 seed SKCS/Andes. The Varsity Boys Championship at 7:30 pm will have #1 seed SKCS/Andes vs #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford. The Delaware League Awards Ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm where our Joseph P. Beck Senior Scholar Athletes will be recognized along with our Coaches Hall of Fame inductees. Best of luck to all four participating teams in pursuit of our overall titles.

By virtue of their wins last night, #1 seed SKCS/Andes and #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford will advance to the Delaware League Championship at SUNY Delhi on Friday February 20th, 2026. Congratulations to these two teams, and best of luck to them next week and to the remaining 4 teams in their second round and round robin games.

The Delaware League and Section IV are proud to announce the Section IV State Ski Teams representing Section IV at the NYSPHSAA Skiing Championships at Bristol Mt on February 23rd and 24th, 2026. The Section IV Girls Team is as follows: Piper Cohane, Gianna Garzone, and Sophia Garzone all from Windham/Catskill, Teagan Mahoney and Mason Streich from Hunter Tannersville, and River Williams from Margaretville. The Section IV Boys Team is as follows: Leo Klein and Jackson Storms from Windham/Catskill, Toren Hyer, Philip Myhre, and Owen Higgins from Hunter Tannersville, and Preston Kostera from Corning Painted Post. Congratulations and Best of Luck to our Ski Team Section IV Champions from Hunter Tannersville Central School for the Varsity Boys and from Windham/Catskill Girls Varsity Ski Merged Team for the Varsity Girls, as they will represent the Delaware League and Section IV at the NYSPHSAA Skiing Championships at Bristol Mt on February 23rd and 24th, 2026. Individual Sectional Champions were Leo Klein from Windham/Catskill for the Slalom Event and Preston Kostera from Corning Painted Post for the Giant Slalom Event. The winners in the Upper Bracket will be off until the Delaware League Varsity Championships at SUNY Delhi on Friday February 20th, 2026 at 7:30 pm. The Upper Bracket losers will pair off in Second Round action on Friday February 13th, 2026 at the school of the lower seeded team. The Lower Bracket will be a three night round robin. Congratulations to our Delaware League Regular Season Champions. On the boy’s side, our regular season champion was the Hunter Tannersville Central School Boys Varsity Ski Team with 5 first place finishes and 4 second place finishes. On the girl’s side, our regular season champion was the Windham Ashland Jewett/Catskill Girls Varsity Ski Merged Team finishing undefeated with 9 first place finishes. Good luck to our Ski and Snowboard Teams participating in the Section IV Championships and End of Year Competition respectively at Belleayre Mt on Tuesday February 10th, 2026. Ski teams are from Hunter Tannersville, Margaretville, Roxbury, and Windham/Catskill. Snowboarding teams are from Hunter Tannersville and Windham. On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Bill Bryant, the longtime Section IV Executive Director, on his retirement this week. Bill has been a great leader for Section IV and an invaluable resource to all of our schools, superintendents, and athletic directors with any answers to questions, and support for any issues or concerns we may be experiencing. Enjoy your well deserved time off with your family and friends Bill!!! The Delaware League JV Basketball Championships will take place on Tuesday February 17th, 2026 at South Kortright Central School. Admission will be $5.00 for students, adults, and senior citizens, and just students under the age of 10 are free. The JV Girls Championship Game will be at 5:30 pm with the #1 seed Stamford/Jefferson Girls JV Basketball Merged Team playing the #2 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Girls JV Basketball Merged Team. The JV Boys Championship game will be at 7:00 pm with the #1 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Boys JV Basketball Merged Team playing the #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford Boys JV Basketball Merged Team. On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate former Andes Central School athlete Mariah Ruff on being a member of the Class of 2026 for induction into the Section IV Hall of Fame. Mariah is being inducted as an Oneonta graduate, but began her athletic career at Andes Central School before transferring to Oneonta. Mariah has proudly represented her family, schools, and communities during her time at both Andes and Oneonta as an outstanding student athlete and leader. Mariah is still actively involved in Section IV athletics as an official. Congratulations Mariah!!!
