Congratulations to Hunter Tannersville Central School for winning the Delaware League 18 Hole Golf Championship on October 16th, 2024 at the Windham Country Club in Windham, NY with a team score of 369. Congratulations to our top three individual scorers, James Garrison of Windham Ashland Jewett Central School as medalist with a score of 80, Gideon Glennon of Hunter Tannersville Central School as runner up with a score of 82, and Teagan Mahoney of Hunter Tannersville Centeal School as our second runner up with a score of 87.

Congratulations to our Regular Season Delaware League Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Champions for the 2024-25 season. On the boy's side, our regular season champion was the Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team with a league record of 7-0. On the girl's side, we had regular season co-champions of South Kortright Central School and Charlotte Valley Central School with identical records of 6-1. Our Regular Season Delaware League Boys Varsity Golf Champion for the 2024-25 season was the Andes/South Kortright Merged Team with a league record of 7-0. Great job everyone!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to wish our Varsity Boys Golf Teams the best of luck in this week's Delaware League 18 Hole Championship at the Windham Country Club on Wednesday October 16th, 2024 at 9:00 AM pending weather delays, after an 8:30 AM coaches meeting. We are very proud that all of our teams qualified to participate in this fun annual event!!! The rain date for this event is Thursday October 17th, 2024 at the same venue and time. We will recognize our team champion and individually our medalist, runner up, and second runner up.. Good luck to everyone!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, as well as our coaches, athletes, and their family and friends we would like to congratulate Nate Lull of WCDO Radio for receiving 2 awards at the 2024 New York State Broadcasters Banquet. One award was for Outstanding Small Market Podcast for The Nate Lull Podcast featuring local athletes, coaches, administrators, and individuals associated with Section IV. The second award was for the Serving New York Award for sponsoring his annual Nate Lull Scholarships for local graduating senior athletes each June. Great job Nate and thank you for all that you do for the Delaware League and all of Section IV!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate former Daily Star Sports Editor Dean Russin for being recognized by the National School Public Relations Association for his campaign promoting S-E student Marshall Sepello's "Marshall Man" movie premiere with a Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award. The campaign also earned Russin two awards from the New York School Public Relations Association in March of this year. This campaign helped to raise over $22,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Congratulations and great work Dean!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate South Kortright Central School for being recognized by NYSPHSAA as a 2023-24 School of Excellence winner. To qualify as a NYSPHSAA School of Excellence winner, the school needs to have 75% of its varsity athletic teams qualify to be recognized for NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team status for the entire school year. Congratulations to the entire South Kortright Central School Athletic Program for excelling not just on the field and courts, but in the classroom as well. Good luck in the coming school year as well!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate Connor Quarino from South Kortright Central School on being named the 2023-24 recipient of the Lou Gaeta Senior Memorial Scholarship Award presented by Stamford Junior Golf, Inc. The $500 award goes to a graduating senior from a Delaware League School who has attended our annual summer golf clinics, is a member of their school’s high school varsity golf team, and displays the proper ideals of sportsmanship and integrity that the game of golf teaches us all. Connor plans to attend SUNY Cobleskill this fall majoring in Landscape Construction with the goal of taking over the family business, Quarino Stonescaping and Concrete. Congratulations Connor!!!

This is a great honor and all of us in the Delaware League appreciate everything that Nate does all year round for local high school sports!!! Congratulations Brandon and Thank You Nate!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate Daniel McClure of South Kortright Central School as he finished tied for 14th place in the JV Class 1A competition at the New York State Trap Shooting Tournament in Bridgeport, NY on June 8th and 9th, 2024. Over 100 schools attended this unique competition in the fast growing sport of trap shooting. We know your family, school district, and friends are all very proud of you Daniel. Congrats!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate our Delaware League Regular Season Tennis Champion and our league representative to the Section IV Team Tennis Tournament, the Hunter Tannersville Central School Wildcats on a successful season. Individually for tennis, at the Section IV Class C-D Tournament we had William Schneider from Hunter Tannersville Central School reach quarterfinal play. At our Delaware League Individual Tennis Tournament at Total Tennis in Saugerties, NY the following individual champions were crowned: Boys Singles Champion was Tristan McVitty from Margaretville Central School, Girls Singles Champion was Sophia Dyjak from Windham Ashland Jewett Central School, Boys Doubles Champions were Conner Hill and Ryan Sanford from Margaretville Central School, and Girls Doubles Champions were Emily Eklund and Robin Henne from the Jefferson/Stamford Merged Team. Congratulations again to everyone!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate both Kate Smith and Teagan Mahoney from Hunter Tannersville Central School for their outstanding performances at the NYSPHSAA Girls State Golf Championship at the Edison Club in Rexford, NY. Kate Smith finished tied for 16th place overall with a two day total of 14 over par 158. Teagan Mahoney finished tied for 61st place overall with a two day total of 39 over par 183. The full field consisted of 86 golfers. Congratulations to both athletes on proudly representing your school, the Delaware League, Section IV, and most importantly your families with these outstanding performances.

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate the individual accomplishments of our spring female athletes in golf. In Girls Golf at Individual Sectionals at the Soaring Eagles Golf Club in Horseheads, NY 8th grader Kate Smith from Hunter Tannersville Central School qualified for the Girls Section IV State Team as medalist with a score of 74 leading all of the golfers attempting to qualify for the Girls Section IV State Team. Also qualifying was 8th grader Teagan Mahoney from Hunter Tannersville Central School with a score of 93 good for a 6th place tie. Only the top 9 golfers qualified to represent Section IV at the state level in girls golf. This team will head to the Edison Club in Rexford, NY for the NYSPHSAA State Tournament on June 2nd and 3rd, 2024. Good luck to both girls as the represent their school, the Delaware League, and Section IV at states!!! We are all very proud of you both!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate our school districts that competed in the Section IV Class D Golf Sectional Tournament at the College Golf Course at SUNY Delhi in Delhi, NY this past Monday. There were 13 teams overall competing and the Delaware League Schools finished as follows: Hunter Tannersville Central School finished in 2nd place, the Andes/SKCS merged team finished in 4th place, Gilboa Conesville Central School finished in 9th place, Windham Ashland Jewett Central School finished in 10th place, and Margaretville Central School finished in 11th place. Individually, Grady Glennon from Hunter Tannersville Central School was runner up with a score of 73. Other top 20 finishers included Gideon Glennon of Hunter Tannersville Central School in 5th place with a score of 79, Kate Smith of Hunter Tannersville Central School in 6th place with a score of 81, Connor Quarino of the Andes/SKCS merged team in 8th place with a score of 84, Lance McClure of the Andes/SKCS merged team in a tie for 13th place with a score of 88, and in a tie for 17th place with scores of 91 were Boston Quarino and Parker Popp both of the Andes/SKCS merged team. Congratulations to all of the participants!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate the individual accomplishments of our spring male athletes in golf. In Boys Individual Sectionals at the Mark Twain Golf Club in Elmira, NY both Grady Glennon and Gideon Glennon from Hunter Tannersville Central School attempted to qualify for the Boys Section IV State Team. The cutoff to qualify for the team was a two day stroke total of 165, but unfortunately Gideon missed by 3 strokes with a score of 168 and Grady missed by 4 strokes with a score of 169. Congratulations on representing your school and the Delaware League so proudly in this tournament!!!

Congratulations to all of the Delaware League Varsity Softball and Varsity Baseball teams that are going to participate in the Section IV Class D Tournaments. For Varsity Softball the participants and seedings are Charlotte Valley #2, Windham Ashland Jewett #5, Roxbury/Gilboa Conesville #7, and Hunter Tannersville #10. For Varsity Baseball the participants and seedings are Gilboa Conesville/Windham Ashland Jewett #4 and South Kortright #6. Good luck to all of the teams in their post season play.

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and AD’s, we would like to congratulate our overall Delaware League Varsity Boys Baseball Champion the Gilboa Conesville/Windham Ashland Jewett Merged Team and our overall Delaware League Varsity Girls Softball Champion the Charlotte Valley Lady Wildcats. Gilboa Conesville/Windham Ashland Jewett defeated South Kortright by a score of 12-8 in the baseball championship game, and Charlotte Valley defeated the Roxbury/Gilboa Conesville Merged Team by a score of 18-9 in the softball championship game. Both games took place in Neahwa Park in Oneonta, NY and we would like to thank the City of Oneonta, the Parks and Recreation Department, and retiring Parks and Recreation Director Louise Lansing for allowing us to use their fields and for having them in great shape for us. We appreciate it so very much!!! Thank you!!!

Tomorrow on Thursday May 9th, 2024 the Delaware League will be hosting the Varsity Boys Baseball Championship and the Varsity Girls Softball Championship in Neahwa Park in Oneonta, NY at 4:30 PM. The Baseball Championship will feature regular season champion and #1 seed the Gilboa Conesville/Windham Ashland Jewett Merged Team as the home team facing off against the runner up and #2 seed South Kortright as the visiting team on Field #6. The Softball Championship will feature regular season tri-champion Charlotte Valley as the home team, facing off against regular season tri-champion the Roxbury/Gilboa Conesville Merged Team as the visiting team on Ted Christman Field #4. Good Luck to all four teams participating and their home school fans!!!
