Our Boys Singles Champion was Ian Gilmore from Hunter Tannersville Central School. Our Girls Singles Champion was Dannielle Galatti from Hunter Tannersville Central School. Our Boys Doubles Champions were Ronin Mears and Jack Pellittier from Windham Ashland Jewett Central School. Our Girls Doubles Champions were Emily Eklund and Robin Henne from the Jefferson/Stamford Merged Team. Congratulations again to everyone!!!

Congratulations to all of the Delaware League Varsity Girls Softball Teams and the Varsity Boys Baseball Teams advancing to the Section IV Class D Tournament. On the girls side, the seeds are as follows: #1 seed Charlotte Valley/Schenevus merged team, #3 seed Windham Ashland Jewett, #4 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury merged team, and #9 seed South Kortright. On the boys side, the seeds are as follows: #3 seed South Kortright, #5 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury merged team, and #8 seed Margaretville. Good luck to all of the teams in sectional play beginning on May 22nd.

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors we would like to congratulate our individual tennis players who excelled at the Section IV Class C/D East Sectionals this past week at Camp Starlight in Hancock, NY. In boys singles competition, advancing to quarterfinal play was Caden Anfimovas from Margaretville Central School. In boys doubles competition, advancing to quarterfinal play were the team of Leo Cruz and Donovan Garcia, as well as the team of Blake Cameron and Harrison Stuart. Both teams are from Hunter Tannersville Central School. Great work by everyone!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate our overall Delaware League Varsity Boys Baseball Champion South Kortright Central School and our overall Delaware League Varsity Girls Softball Champion, the Charlotte Valley/Schenevus Merged Team. #2 seeded South Kortright defeated the #1 seeded Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team in the varsity baseball championship game by the score of 10-4. The #2 seeded Charlotte Valley/Schenevus Merged Team defeated #1 seeded Windham Ashland Jewett in the varsity softball championship game by the score of 12-4. Both games took place in Neahwa Park in Oneonta, NY and we would like to thank the City of Oneonta, the Parks and Recreation Department, and Parks Director Steve “Lefty” Andrews for allowing us to use the fields and having them in great shape for us. We appreciate it so very much!!! Thank you!!!

The Delaware League Varsity Boys Tennis Playoff Match to determine our representative to the Section IV Division 2 Team Tennis Sectionals was played and Windham Ashland Jewett defeated Hunter Tannersville by the score of 4-3. The Section IV Division 2 Team Tennis Sectional Semifinals will happen on Monday May 19th, 2025 at 4:15 pm when #1 seeded Delaware Academy hosts #4 seeded Lansing and #2 seeded Windham Ashland Jewett hosts #3 seeded Oneonta. Winners will play in the finals on Wednesday May 22nd, 2025 at the school of the lowest remaining seeded team. Best of luck to all participating teams!!!

There will be a Delaware League Varsity Tennis Playoff match on Friday May 16th, 2025 at Windham Ashland Jewett Central School at 4:15 pm between Hunter Tannersville Central School and Windham Ashland Jewett Central School to determine our league representative to the Section IV Team Tennis Sectionals. Both teams finished 11-1 in league play and split their matches, so we have no tiebreaker advantage. Rain date for this match will be on Sunday May 18th, 2025 also at Windham Ashland Jewett Central School with a time TBD. Section IV Team Tennis Sectionals begin on Monday May 19th, 2025 at a place and time TBD. Good luck to both teams!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate Section IV Executive Director Bill Bryant on being chosen to the Class of 2025 Induction Class for the NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame. Induction will take place this summer in July of 2025. Bill has been the Section IV Executive Director since 2021 and has been involved in high school athletics for almost 50 years in many capacities. Bill is a pleasure to work with and is extremely supportive of the Delaware League and our efforts locally and in all of Section IV. Congrats again Bill!!!

The Delaware League Varsity Baseball and Softball Championships will take place this Thursday May 15th, 2025 in Neahwa Park in Oneonta, NY at 4:30 pm. The Varsity Baseball Game will take place on Field #6 between the #1 seeded Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury merged team being the home team and the #2 seeded South Kortright Central School being the visiting team. The Varsity Softball Game will take place on Ted Christman Field #4 between the #1 seeded Windham Ashland Jewett Central School being the home team and the #2 seeded Charlotte Valley/Schenevus merged team being the visiting team. The Delaware League will be having their annual Individual Tennis Tournament Championship at Total Tennis in Saugerties, NY on Tuesday May 13th, 2025 at 9:00 am. In Class D, named to the 1st Team were Addy Eckert from South Kortright Central School and McKenna Hoyt from the Stamford/Jefferson merged team. Named to the 3rd Team was Caitlyn Deysenroth from South Kortright Central School. Named to the 10th Team was Brinlee Wright from Charlotte Valley Central School. In Class B, named to the 10th team was Grace Walley from the Downsville/Walton merged team. Congratulations to Josh Burroughs, Head Coach of the South Kortright Lady Rams Varsity Girls Basketball Team on being selected as the BCANY Section IV Class D Varsity Girls Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season. Congratulations to Head Coach Josh Burroughs and the South Kortright Lady Rams Varsity Girls Basketball Team on an extremely successful year representing their school, families, friends, communities, the Delaware League, and Section IV proudly as they advanced to the NYSPHSAA State Tournament Class D Quarterfinals before falling to Section III Champion LaFargeville by the score of 56-47. The tradition this program has is recognized throughout the area and respected as well by players, coaches, and communities alike. It is always a pleasure to see them compete and have the opportunity to go against them in all sports throughout the calendar year. We are all very proud of you and pleased at how you represented all of us in the state tournament. Congratulations again on an amazing season!!!

The inductee is Sarah Haight from Charlotte Valley Central School as a member of the Athlete’s category. Sarah joins her father Eric and sister Chelsea who were previous Section IV Hall of Fame Inductees. Sarah has proudly represented her family, school, and community during her time at Charlotte Valley as an outstanding athlete, leader, and scholar. Sarah is a testament to the rich tradition of the athletic programs at Charlotte Valley. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to Head Coach Josh Burroughs and the #1 seeded South Kortright Central School Varsity Girls Basketball Team as they won the Section IV Class D Championship in an exciting 49-38 victory over the Stamford/Jefferson Merged Team at SUNY Delhi. On behalf of the Delaware League we want to wish you best of luck as you head into NYSPHSAA Tournament play next Saturday March 15th, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Tompkins Cortland Community College against the Section III Champion, the #1 seeded LaFargeville Central School. Congratulations to the Section IV Skiing participants led by the Windham Ashland Jewett Central School Varsity Girls Team and the Hunter Tannersville Central School Varsity Boys Team. Windham Ashland Jewett finished as Tri-State Champions with Shenendehowa and Mamaroneck in the girls team competition. Hunter Tannersville finished in 5th place overall in the boys team competition. For the individual girls skiers, Piper Cohane of Windham Ashland Jewett Central School was the top finisher in the Giant Slalom event finishing in 10th place overall and she also was the top finisher in the Slalom event finishing in 9th place overall. For the individual boys skiers, Chase Norwick of Margaretville Central School was the top finisher in the Giant Slalom event finishing in 22nd place overall, and William Schneider of Hunter Tannersville Central School was the top finisher in the Slalom event finishing in 25th place overall. The Section IV Sportsmanship Award Winners were Piper Cohane from Windham Ashland Jewett Central School and Devin Schlosser from Windham Ashland Jewett Central School. Congratulations to everyone who participated and represented the Delaware League and Section IV!!!

Congratulations to our 2024-25 Delaware League Varsity Basketball Champions. This was an exciting night of basketball with two very well played and hard fought contests. In the Varsity Girls game, #1 seed South Kortright defeated #2 seed Stamford/Jefferson by the score of 42-37. In the Varsity Boys game, #1 seed Margaretville defeated #2 seed South Kortright by the score of 57-46. A huge Thank You to everyone at SUNY Delhi for once again hosting our championships. We appreciate your efforts so very much!!! We look forward to working with you on next year’s championship games!!!

The Delaware League Varsity Basketball Championships will take place on Thursday February 18th, 2025 at the Manes Field House on the SUNY Delhi Campus. General admission for all adults, students, and Senior Citizens 65 and over is $5.00, and children under 10 years of age will be admitted free. Parking by the field house will be only for team school buses and handicapped tagged cars. The Bronco Shuttle Bus will run throughout the night starting at 4:30 pm taking spectators from the lower lots to the top and back again. The Varsity Girls Championship at 5:30 pm will have #1 seed South Kortright vs #2 seed Stamford/Jefferson. The Varsity Boys Championship at 7:30 pm will have #1 seed Margaretville vs #2 seed South Kortright. The Delaware League Awards Ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm where our Joseph P. Beck Senior Scholar Athletes will be recognized along with our Coaches Hall of Fame Inductees. Best of luck to all four participating teams in pursuit of our overall titles.
