The First Round of the Delaware League Girls Varsity Basketball Playoffs will take place on Tuesday February 6th, 2024 at various sites. In the Upper Bracket, #1 seed South Kortright will host #4 seed Gilboa/Windham at 7:00 PM following a JV contest between #3 seed South Kortright and #4 seed Hunter Tannersville at 5:30 PM. #2 seed Stamford/Jefferson will host #3 seed Charlotte Valley in a single varsity contest at 6:00 PM. In the Lower Bracket, a round robin format will have #5 seed Hunter Tannersville host #7 seed Roxbury in a single varsity contest at 5:30 PM. The winners in the Upper Bracket will be off until the Delaware League Varsity Basketball Championships at SUNY Delhi on Thursday February 15th, 2024. The Upper Bracket losers will pair off in Second Round action on Thursday February 8th, 2024 at the home school of the lower seeded school. The Lower Bracket Round Robin will finish that night with #6 seed Margaretville hosting #7 seed Roxbury in a single varsity contest at 5:30 PM. The Delaware League JV Championships will take place on Tuesday February 13, 2024 at Stamford Central School. Admission will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students with senior citizens over 65 and children under 10 free. The JV Girls Championship Game will be at 5:30 PM with the #1 seed Charlotte Valley playing the #2 seed Stamford/Jefferson and the JV Boys Championship Game will be at 7:00 PM with the #1 seed South Kortright playing the #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford. The snow date will be Wednesday February 14, 2024 with the same place and times. Best of luck to all 4 teams in pursuit of the overall titles.

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to send out our congratulations to the merged Varsity Girls Cross Country from Delhi/South Kortright as they not only were crowned the Section IV Class D Varsity Girls Cross Country Champions, but at the NYSPHSAA State Championships they came away as the NYSPHSAA Varsity Girls Cross Country State Runner Up in Class D. These are tremendous accomplishments and we know that your schools, your families and friends, and your school communities are extremely proud of you!!! What a great season!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would to send out our congratulations to the South Kortright Rams Varsity Boys Soccer Team and their Head Coach Bob Van Valkenburgh on a very successful season which unfortunately ended yesterday in NYSPHSAA State Regional Quarterfinal play as they were defeated by the Section III Champions from Poland Central School by the score of 3-1. We know that your school district, the families of all the players, and all your supportive community members are extremely proud of you and how your represented your school, the league, and Section IV in the contest. A truly great season. We also would like to congratulate our Tri-Valley neighbors, the Edmeston/Morris merged Varsity Girls Soccer team on their successful season, which also ended yesterday in NYSPHSAA State Regional Quarterfinal play as they were defeated by the Section III Champions from Cincinnatus Central School by the score of 2-0. A truly wonderful showing for our Class D schools!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to send our congratulations to the top seeded South Kortright Varsity Boys Soccer Team and their Head Coach Bob Van Valkenburgh on winning the Section IV Class D Championship over #3 seeded Edmeston by the score of 1-0. South Kortright will now advance to NYSPHSAA state quarterfinal play later this week on Saturday November 4th at the Wright National Soccer Campus Fields in Oneonta, NY at 12:30 PM when they will face the Section III Class D Champion. The Section III Class D Championship will be decided on Monday October 30th at Vernon Verona Sherrill High School at 5:00 PM between #1 seeded Poland Central School and #2 seeded Hamilton Central School. We would also like to wish our Tri-Valley neighbors, the #3 seeded Edmeston/Morris merged soccer team, congratulations as they captured the Section IV Class D Girls Championship by defeating #4 seeded Franklin by the score of 1-0. They will advance to NYSPHSAA state quarterfinal play this week on Saturday November 4th at Nottingham High School against the Section III Class D Champion Cincinnatus Central School at 2:00 PM. Congratulations to the overall Delaware League Soccer Champions in our games held on Saturday October 14th, 2023 at the NSHOF Wright National Soccer Campus Fields in Oneonta, NY. On the boys side, the South Kortright Rams defeated the Downsville/Walton War Eagles by a score of 3-0. In the girls finals game, the Charlotte Valley Lady Wildcats defeated the Windham Ashland Jewett Lady Warriors by a score of 1-0. These were 2 great games played by all four of our competing teams!!!

Delaware League Seniors!!! Remember that the Senior Soccer Games are in 2 weeks on Sunday October 29th, 2023 at 1:00 PM at South Kortright Central School. Both the Girls Game and Boys Game will happen simultaneously. Please bring both your light and dark uniform shirts as teams will be selected that day, and you must have the NYSPHSAA signed permission slip turned in that day to play in the games. No texts or cell phone calls will be accepted. Come out and enjoy these fun games to complete your high school careers!!! Hope to see you there!!!

On the girls side the seeds in Class D are as follows: Charlotte Valley #1, Windham Ashland Jewett #6, South Kortright #8, Margaretville #10, and Stamford/Jefferson #12. In Class C Downsville/Walton is seeded #14. On the boys side the seeds in Class D are as follows: South Kortright #1, Margaretville #4, Gilboa Conesville #6, Charlotte Valley #8, and Roxbury #10. Congratulations to our Regular Season Boys and Girls Delaware League Varsity Soccer Champions of the 2023-24 season. On the boys side, our champion was South Kortright Central School with a league record of 8-0, and on the girls side our champion was Charlotte Valley Central School with a league record of 7-1. Our Regular Season Boys Delaware League Varsity Golf Champion was Hunter Tannersville Central School with a league record of 7-0. Great job everyone!!!

Congratulations to Hunter Tannersville Central School for winning the Delaware League 18 Hole Golf Championship on October 11th, 2023 at the Stamford Golf Club in Stamford, NY with a team score of 344. Congratulations to our top three individual scorers Grady Glennon of Hunter Tannersville Central School as medalist with a score of one under par 69 including a hole in one on the Par 3 8th Hole, Kate Smith of Hunter Tannersville Central School as runner up with a score of 83, and Jacob Staroba of the merged Jefferson/Stamford team as our second runner up with a score of 84.

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate both Grady Glennon and Kate Smith from Hunter Tannersville Central School on their outstanding performances at the NYSPHSAA Boys and Girls State Golf Championships respectively. In the Boys Championship at the Mark Twain Golf Club in Elmira, NY Grady Glennon finished tied for 5th overall in a field of 99 participants after leading the field after day one with an even par score of 72, and finishing with a two day total of 8 over par 152. In the Girls Championship at the Edison Club in Rexford, NY Kate Smith finished tied for 41st overall in a field of 111 participants with a two day total of 34 over par 178. Congratulations to both athletes on proudly representing your school, the Delaware League and Section IV, and most importantly your families with these outstanding performances!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate our regular season Delaware League Tennis Champion and our league representative to the Section IV Team Tennis Tournament, the Margaretville Blue Devils on a successful season. Individually for tennis, at the Section IV Class C-D tournament we had Simone Tunno from Charlotte Valley Central School reach the boys singles quarterfinals, and the boys doubles team of Ryan McVitty and Tristan McVitty from Margaretville Central School reached the boys doubles quarterfinals. At our Delaware League Individual Tennis Tournament at Total Tennis in Saugerties, NY the following individual champions were crowned: Boys SIngles Champion was Ryan McVitty from Margaretville Central School, Girls Singles Champion was Hedda Flynn from Hunter Tannersville Central School, Boys Doubles Champions were Christian Bravo and Conner Hill from Margaretville Central School, and Girls Doubles Champions were Sophia Dyjak and Alexis Moss from Windham Ashland Jewett Central School. Congratulations again to everyone!!
