The Varsity Boys and Girls Ski Champions will represent Section IV at the NYSPHSAA Championships on Monday and Tuesday February 23th and 24th, 2026 at Bristol Mt in Canandiagua, NY. The First Round of the Delaware League Girls Varsity Basketball Playoffs will take place on Tuesday February 10th, 2026 at various sites. The #1 seed Stamford /Jefferson Merged Team will host #4 seed Margaretville with a JV time of 5:30 pm and a Varsity time of 7:00 pm. The #2 seed South Kortright/Andes Merged Team will host #3 seed Hunter Tannersville with a JV time of 5:30 pm and a Varsity time of 7:00 pm. The winners will be off until the Delaware League Varsity Basketball Championships at SUNY Delhi on Friday February 20th, 2026. The losers will pair off in second round action on Thursday February 12th, 2026 at the home school of the lower seeded remaining school. Bill has been a great leader for Section IV and an invaluable resource to all of our schools, superintendents, and athletic directors with any answers to questions, and support for any issues or concerns we may be experiencing. The Delaware League JV Basketball Championships will take place on Tuesday February 17th, 2026 at South Kortright Central School. Admission will be $5.00 for students, adults, and senior citizens, and just students under the age of 10 are free. The JV Girls Championship Game will be at 5:30 pm with the #1 seed Stamford/Jefferson Girls JV Basketball Merged Team playing the #2 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Girls JV Basketball Merged Team. The JV Boys Championship game will be at 7:00 pm with the #1 seed Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Boys JV Basketball Merged Team playing the #2 seed Jefferson/Stamford Boys JV Basketball Merged Team. The snow date will be Wednesday February 18th, 2026 with the same place and times. Best of luck to all 4 teams in pursuit of the overall titles.

Congratulations to our Delaware League Regular Season Varsity Basketball Champions!!! On the girl’s side, the Stamford/Jefferson Girls Varsity Basketball Merged Team finished undefeated in league play with a record of 8-0 to claim the regular season title. On the girl’s side, our regular season champion is the Stamford/Jefferson Girls JV Basketball Merged Team finishing with a record of 7-1. On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate former Andes Central School athlete Mariah Ruff on being a member of the Class of 2026 for induction into the Section IV Hall of Fame. Mariah is being inducted as an Oneonta graduate, but began her athletic career at Andes Central School before transferring to Oneonta. Mariah has proudly represented her family, schools, and communities during her time at both Andes and Oneonta as an outstanding student athlete and leader. Mariah is still actively involved in Section IV athletics as an official. Congratulations Mariah!!!

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate the Delhi/South Kortright Varsity Boys and Girls Cross Country Merged Teams on their performance at the NYSPHSAA Class D State Cross Country Championships. The Boys Team finished in 4th place overall and the Girls Team finished in 5th place overall. South Kortright athletes finished as follows: for the boys, Langston Comer finished in 51st place and Patrick Trimbell finished in 121st place, and for the girls: Aurelia Comer finished in 29th place, Emma Smith finished in 81st place, and Sally Kuhn finished in 110th place. We are very proud of you for your team and individual accomplishments. Congrats again!!!

Unfortunately, their season ended in the Section IV Class D Football semifinals where they were defeated by IAC member Trumansburg by the score of 21-13. Congrats on another successful regular season and postseason play.

On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to send out our congratulations to the Delhi/South Kortright Varsity Boys Cross Merged Team and the Varsity Girls Cross Country Merged Team, as both teams were crowned Section IV Class D Cross Country Champions at Chenango Valley State Park. Low individual runners from South Kortright were Langston Comer finishing in 9th place for the boys, and Aurelia Comer finishing in 9th place for the girls. We wish both teams the best of luck as they participate in the upcoming NYSPHSAA State Championships at Queensbury High School in Section II on Saturday November 15th, 2025. On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to send out our congratulations to the top seeded Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Varsity Boys Soccer Merged Team and Head Coaches Kenny Cox and AJ Vamosy on being Section IV Class D Co-Champions with third seeded Edmeston of the Tri-Valley League, by playing to a 2-2 tie at Sidney High School in the Sectional Final. Edmeston prevailed in the penalty kick shootout 3-2 to advance to the NYSPHSAA state tournament. We would like to wish Edmeston and the Section IV Class D Varsity Girls Soccer Champion, the top seeded Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young Merged Team, also of the Tri-Valley League, the best of luck in NYSPHSAA state tournament play this coming week.

Congratulations to the Overall Delaware League Soccer Champions crowned in our games held on Saturday October 18th, 2025 at the NSHOF Wright National Soccer Campus Fields in Oneonta, NY. On the boys side, the Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team defeated the SKCS/Andes Merged Team by the score of 5-0 to be champions. On the girls side, the Charlotte Valley/Schenevus Merged Team and the Stamford/Jefferson Merged Team battled to a 1-1 draw resulting in Co-Champions. These were two great games played by all four of our competing teams!!!

The Delaware League Varsity Boys and Girls 2025-26 Soccer Championships will take place on Saturday October 18th, 2025 at the Wright National Soccer Campus Hall of Fame Fields in Oneonta, NY. In the girls championship game at 10:00 AM, the Charlotte Valley/Schenevus Merged Team is the #1 seed and they will play the #2 seed Stamford/Jefferson Merged Team. In the boys championship game at 10:15 AM, the Gilboa Conesville/Roxbury Merged Team is the #1 seed and they will play the #2 seed South Kortright/Andes Merged Team. General admission for all spectators is $5.00, with children under 10 being free. Please no pop-up tents or animals/pets at the campus per local policy. Good luck to all four teams!!!
