Rams battle back to split DL title

ONEONTA - A first half lead for Windham (Windham-Ashland-Jewett) girls soccer against South Kortright Saturday, Oct. 15, could not be sustained, and both teams were named co-champions of the Delaware League in a 2-2 tie.

Windham got on the board first, with an unassisted Zeta Pitti goal at the 2:20 mark. With 55 seconds left in the first half, teammate Hannah Tuttle netted a second goal, entering half-time with a 2-0 score over South Kortright.

Turning on the offensive engine, SK Rams rallied in second-half play with Madysen Reeves scoring with an assist from Madison Coberly with under six minutes left in play. Teammate Carlee Dropp landed the game-tying goal with less than five minutes left in regulation play.

WAJ outpaced SK on shots on goal 9-7. WAJ goalkeeper Ashtyn Hansen had four saves; SK goalie Addy Eckert blocked four shots.
