SK Ram Girls Claim League Champ Title

DELHI - South Kortright Rams girls basketball defeated the Stamford/Jefferson Jayhawks 38 - 26 on Thursday, Feb. 17 to win the Delaware League Championship at SUNY Delhi. This year’s victory marked the 12th straight league title for the Rams.
In the opening quarter, the Rams took a 10 - 5 advantage after a strong defensive start against the Jayhawks.
In the second quarter, Emily Anderson put up eight points to add to the Rams lead, 19 - 12 heading into halftime. S/J was led by McKenna Hoyt who added six first-half points.
In the third quarter, Anderson continued to control the game offensively in this low-scoring game. She punched her team’s lead to 30 - 17 with 13 points through three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, the Jayhawks outshot the Rams 9 - 8. Seven out of the eight Rams’ points were scored by Anderson. SK took advantage of their lead early in the game to earn the 38 - 26 victory over the Jayhawks for the DL championship title.
South Kortright’s Emily Andersen finished with a game-high 20 points and Lacey Eckert contributed eight points to the Rams victory.
S/J’s Mckenna Hoyt led her team, finishing with 12 points for the Jayhawks.
