CV/S Falls to WAJ 6-5 In Delaware League Championship

ONEONTA - Windham-Ashland-Jewett rallied late and walked off Charlotte Valley/Schenevus for a 6-5 victory Thursday May 14 to capture the 2026 Delaware League Softball championship.
The win secured the first Delaware League title in program history for Windham-Ashland-Jewett.
Trailing late, WAJ battled back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game before sealing the championship in the seventh. Hannah Tuttle scored the winning run on a hit by Mikenzie Schoonmaker.
Tuttle also dominated in the circle, tossing a three-hitter with 18 strikeouts. She added a double at the plate, while Schoonmaker doubled, drove in three runs and delivered the game-winning hit.
Charlotte Valley/Schenevus stayed in contention behind a strong outing from Brinlee Wright, who struck out 12. Jordan Odell doubled and scored twice, while Abby Vroman also crossed the plate two times.
