ONEONTA - In a final that never blinked, Charlotte Valley/Schenevus and Stamford/Jefferson battled to a 1–1 stalemate on Saturday, Oct. 18 to finish as Co-Champions of the 2025 Delaware League Girls Soccer Season.
All the scoring came in a crisp, high-tempo first half. CV/S struck first when Jordan Odell slipped free in the box and buried a pass from Brinlee Wright for a 1–0 lead. S/J answered before the break, leveling when Emily Eklund finished a setup from Abigail Villanueva.
From there it was a goalkeepers’ and backlines’ showcase—especially for S/J senior McKenna Hoyt, who turned aside 22 shots to keep the match even. Hoyt controlled her area on corners, smothered rebounds and denied multiple point-blank chances as CV/S pressed late.
Neither side blinked, and with overtime not used for the league championship this season, the co-champions were declared at the final whistle.
