SK boys Rams capture 8th consecutive DL title

DELHI - The South Kortright boys varsity basketball team captured its eighth consecutive Delaware League championship title in a game against Margaretville, Thursday, Feb. 16 at SUNY Delhi, with a score of 60-31.

Margaretville Blue Devils dominated first quarter play 15-8, with Connor Wayman hitting two three-point baskets, which would contribute to his overall team leading 11-point total. 

The Rams strengthened their offense in the second quarter with Trenton Cole and Connor Quarino both putting up nine points, aided by a basket by Darren Dengler for a half-time score of 28-21, Rams.

In the third quarter, the Rams held the Blue Devils to just two points for a third-quarter score of 17-2. The Rams outscored the Blue Devils 15-8 in the fourth quarter for a final score of 60-31 and the championship title.

Leading scoring for the Rams was Connor Quarino with 20 points. Quarino went 5-for-7 at the foul line. Contributing to the Rams’ win was Trenton Cole who scored 18 points and Josh Anderson who scored eight points.
